Situated on a 500-acre arable farm on the Sledmere Estate, overlooking the rolling countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds which inspired the famous paintings of David Hockney, this holiday cottage is adjacent to the owner’s home and is ideal for couples and groups of friends. Visitors can enjoy a cosy living room with a quaint range fire and a spacious dining room, along with the privacy of each bedroom being en-suite.
The Wolds Way is close by and there is an abundance of walking, riding and cycling tracks from the doorstep. Sledmere village (2 miles) has a renowned pub serving food and Sledmere House is a charming stately home with an 18th-century walled rose garden. Further historic houses can be found at Burton Agnes, Sewerby and Castle Howard. Just a 30-minute drive leads to the east coast, with miles of sandy beaches and traditional resorts including Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough. Flamborough with its lighthouse and RSPB Bempton are easily accessible. The market town of Beverley (17 miles) and historic York (24 miles) are not to be missed.
